La Rochelle and Niort are the nearest towns for a proper shop till you drop day! Hundreds of boutiques, all individual offering a wide range of fashion to fill your suitcases! A large daily market is held in La Rochelle and on specific days in the smaller villages and towns; always interesting and a great atmosphere.
Relaxation and Fun
Spending a day reading your book by our pool, driving through all the pretty villages surrounding us, a horse drawn tour or meandering through the numerous parks in La Rochelle, your time here can be as relaxing as you wish. A choice destination also for those wanting to get fit or de-stress with the help of the ocean we have three Thalassotherapy centres within easy reach. As already mentioned The Aquarium in La Rochelle is a superb day out for all ages, the Monkey Valley - 37 Acres with over 350 types of gorilla and monkey is fantastic. There is a small Aquatic centre with indoor and outdoor pool with a couple of flumes, world famous Palmyre Zoo, horse riding, karting, leisure park with 50 different games for range of ages, even hiring a punt or canoe along the green canals with the family is an enjoyable experience.
Golf
Fresh sea air and superb views of the Atlantic Ocean you can choose courses in La Rochelle, Rochefort, Ile de Re or Ile de Oleron. Alternatively choose one inland with just as many benefits in either Cognac, Saintes, Niort or Poitiers.
History and Museums
Multitude of museums and an area truly steeped in history. Larger towns such as La Rochelle, Saintes, Rochefort, Poiters, and even the smaller villages all have a story to tell.
